A tactile response to the way we are… Delicate cloth and stitch are overpowered by traditional printing processes – exploring a personal realisation that we all have a different point of view. This work celebrates the subtle qualities that make us unique. I feel very comfortable creating collographic prints. I enjoy the process and coming from a strong textile background, I understand the tactile nature of the printing plates. Dense, rough surfaces hold onto the ink to give a deep rich tone. Yet ink is quick to clean of a smooth surface to give a lighter tonal finish. Sleight of hand allows each print a unique quality. Until recently I had worked for 13 years, almost exclusively with ‘devoré’, a fabric structuring process. Current work: ‘NEW GROUNDS’ has given me the opportunity to expand and explore. I am incredibly grateful to the Arts Council for all the support they have given. Visit Radaint Works to see the lastest developments...
