I make mainly functional stoneware all hand thrown on my potter's wheel. Stoneware is fired in a kiln to an extremely high temperature which renders it 'semi-vitrified', very strong, durable and, being non porous, is suitable for use in the freezer as well as the hottest oven or dishwasher.
Most of my work is intended for use in the Kichen and Dining room which requires my use of 'dinnerware safe' glazes - free from lead and other poisonous materials.
I have been involved in the Ceramics industry all my working life with pottery being a serious hobby I have persued on and off for 50 years since the age of 13.
